FAQ

The Claw Collector

What is The Claw Collector?

The Claw Collector is an app for Morgan silver dollar collectors, at theclawcollector.ai. You keep your collection and watchlist in one place, and the app checks dealer listings against what you want. Grok Bot can connect through MCP in a limited beta. When your account is connected, the bot can read your collection and help you hunt.

What's my Morgan silver dollar worth?

A Morgan dollar's value depends on its date, mint mark, condition, and whether it is graded. Common dates in worn condition sell near their silver value, while key dates and high grades can be worth much more. The Claw Collector shows a price guide from a licensed Greysheet feed (Whitman Brands). Prices change, so treat any number as a guide, not a promise.

What's the best coin collecting app?

The best app is the one built for what you collect. If you collect Morgan silver dollars, The Claw Collector focuses on Morgans, with your collection, your watchlist, and dealer listings in one place. Grok Bot can connect in a limited beta, so some collectors can ask their bot about their coins.

How do I find a cheap Carson City Morgan?

Add the Carson City dates you want to your watchlist, and set the grade you are after. The Claw Collector checks dealer listings on a schedule. A listing can include a deal score that compares the asking price with the price guide, so you can spot a good deal and skip an overpriced one. The app does not buy or check out. You decide, and you pay the dealer directly.

Is my Morgan graded or raw, and does it matter?

A graded Morgan has been sealed in a holder by a grading service such as PCGS or NGC, with a grade printed on the label. A raw coin is ungraded and not in a holder. It matters because graded coins usually sell for more and are easier to price, while raw coins depend on the buyer's judgment. You can track both kinds in The Claw Collector. Each coin can record a grading service — PCGS, NGC, ANACS, CACG, or Raw — and a cert number.

How does pricing work?

The Claw Collector reads a paid Greysheet feed from Whitman Brands for its price guide. A listing can also be scored against that guide and other published prices. This is pricing information, not investment advice.

Do I need to be good with technology?

No. The app works on its own without any bot, so you can add your coins and your watchlist. Connecting Grok Bot is optional, and that connection is in a limited beta.

Does it work with Grok Bot?

It can, in a limited beta. Connection is not open to every tester. When your account is allowed to connect, your Grok Bot can read your collection and watchlist, check prices and listings, and add wants after you confirm.

Is my data private?

Your collection stays on your account. Dealer match results the app ships are coin totals, not your name or location. There is no separate privacy-policy page yet. An introduction is recorded only if you request one, and the app does not send that introduction.

Is it free in beta?

Yes. Pro is free during the beta. Pricing will be announced before the beta ends.
